Sophie has been working as a strategic communications consultant with Champs Public Health Collaborative (Champs) on their All Together Smokefree programme for the last 6 months. Champs is a partnership between NHS Cheshire and Merseyside and the 9 local authorities across the region.

This work has included supporting the strategy and delivery of several new behavioural change campaigns across Cheshire and Merseyside.

Champs have an ambitious programme featuring 3 hero campaigns, 5 always-on digital-only campaigns targeting discreet audiences and 3 targeted interventions with harder-to-reach populations such as routine and manual workers.

Sophie has worked alongside the in-house Marketing Manager to support:

  • media and campaign strategy definition

  • agency management

  • campaign development and delivery

  • client representation on video and photo shoots for TV adverts

  • creative production across 5 different campaign styles

  • campaign performance analysis

  • reviews of all creative assets ready for go-lives

Results indicate 52% prompted campaign recall, with 63% taking positive action after seeing the campaign, including 27% cutting down or quitting smoking.

Most recently, Sophie has been working with the Strategic Lead and Marketing Manager on their 3-year strategic planning for the smokefree programme, providing specialist communications advice on developing a sustainable communications framework for campaign delivery.
